当下，我国乡村建设在人居环境整治、基础设施建设和风貌提升等方面成效突出，但仍有一些不足。部分乡村在规划建设中，由于缺乏对本土文化的深度挖掘和对美学规律的精准把握，或简单套用城市模式，或盲目追求整齐划一，呈现“同质化”“旅游化”等倾向，失去了应有的韵味和特色。这本质上是审美力不足导致的“模仿惰性”——因缺乏独立审美判断而盲目跟风。乡村产业发展中，也有不少优质农产品、传统手工艺因品牌建设薄弱、设计赋能不足，难以将文化优势转化为价值优势。同时，乡村美育资源待发掘，特别是偏远地区，传统向现代的转化成为短板，制约着乡村的内生力。这些问题的存在，一定程度上均源于审美力的缺失，根本原因在于美术设计嵌入乡村发展全链条不够深。
